CULTIVATING REGENERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS

Welcome to Kauaʻi Food Forest
where canopy and sub-canopy trees, shrubs, ground covers, vines and root crops  form synergistic partnerships with the soil, the atmosphere and the people who care for this abundant forest foodscape

Now in its 9th year, the Kaua'i Food Forest is a species-rich, multilayered agroforestry project on the Garden Island's stunning
North Shore. The forest contains an incredible wealth of useful plants, including food and medicinal plants from Hawai'i, Polynesia, Melanesia, North, Central, & South America, Africa, India, Asia, and Australia. Join us as we evolve our techniques of soil regeneration, planting and harvesting through deep observation and collaborative action with the living breathing 'āina (land).

What Our Volunteers Are Saying

"I feel very welcomed and appreciated whenever volunteering for the Food Forest. The trees and plants are as beautiful as the people involved. I'm so grateful for the food forest and its eco-agricultural role in the community." -Eve Schlosser

"Kauai Food Forest is a community of teachers, students, and caretakers. In not just perpetuating but restoring the health of the soil we restore health to the island and ourselves." -Fiona Weingartner

Google Maps
From the South
One mile past the Shell station in Kilauea, turn left on Kahiliholo Rd
From the North
Cross the Kalihiwai bridge and make the next right on Kahiliholo Rd
After turning on Kahiliholo Rd...
Drive 6/10 of a mile up Kahiliholo Rd and take a left at signs for the Kaua'i Food Forest (and Dog Park)– after passing through the Wai Koa stone gate, drive straight ahead and park in any available space, if dry weather! If it's rained and it looks muddy, instead park at the side of the gravel road (without blocking traffic). The entrance to the Food Forest is marked with a sign.
