Volunteer day at the Kauai Food Forest is every saturday starting around 9am. Our goal is to create bio-diversity starting from the ground cover to the canopy. With a focus on regenerative soil practices and a belief that we can feed ourselves and our community. We break mid-day for an ainālicious meal based around what is producing in the forest. It is also pot luck style focused on Kauai grown food for those bringing something to pitch in to the whole. After that we're back in the food forest learning about eco-systems as a whole and discusing how what we're accomplishing that day works.
What Our Volunteers Are Saying
"I feel very welcomed and appreciated whenever volunteering for the Food Forest. The trees and plants are as beautiful as the people involved. I'm so grateful for the food forest and its eco-agricultural role in the community." -Eve Schlosser
"Kauai Food Forest is a community of teachers, students, and caretakers. In not just perpetuating but restoring the health of the soil we restore health to the island and ourselves." -Fiona Weingartner
